A Teenage Driving Approach To Life

I have decided to take an approach to my daily life that I have designed with my teenage driver in mind. What are the most important things to my son upon entering the car? Music, air conditioning and seat position to increase the "coolness" factor.

I am going to start enjoying music again! Downloading and dancing are on the agenda; music for yoga, music for work and working out, music for cooking and socializing. I am back on the music wagon, how I have missed it! Hmmmm where to start? Ramones, Relient K, One Republic, and that new find the Generationals. I will keep you posted.

Air conditioning; a must in the desert but the art of being "cool" in mind and attitude is my next quest. I intend to try out this meditation thing. I keep buying the books and I even read them but then fail to actually meditate. I tried three times and got all giggly. Giggling is great but doesn't aid in the focus department. However, in my latest read: Being Peace by Thich Nhat Hanh he provides the best description of meditation yet. Smile and breathe until you are present in the moment. Welcome to meditation! Awesome! Also, it works!

Finally, seat position is the next task to be approached. I think this is a metaphor for perspective. We are always in control of our perspective and we can alter and control how we see the world around us. So I am going to turn up the music, smile and breathe to see the world I want to see.
